"We don't want you to sell Corinthian figures, we want you to work for us"...
Those were the words uttered to me by Collector Club Manager, Simon Shaw, in 1999 that literally sent the Watts family in a completely direction to the one that we were heading. So much so that we're now 9500 miles from where my wife - and founder of JaqJnr - met whilst I worked for Corinthian and was 'on tour' promoting the infamous Series 9 of ProStars at the Ipswich Roadshow.
We now call Perth home - via Sydney - and have been in Australia for almost 13 years having been recruited to work here by Westpac from Lloyds Bank in 2012. This has meant a lot of travelling, a lot of work and a lot of time spent away from family and friends. What it's also meant is that we have been able grow our hobby business into a company that will move into its own 120sqm premises in the latter part of this year.
So why the ode to Corinthian... Well, as I said above, none of what has happened in our lives would have happened without Dralda House, the Corinthian Collector Club, the NEC Conventions and Powerpodz, so Corinthian is VERY special to the Watts family and now it's the right time to share our archives!
Through the remainder of the year and into 2025 you can expect to find regular additions to the JaqJnr store of rare Corinthian merchandise, promotional material, pictures, postcards, collector cards and even the odd figure from our personal collections. Because before I worked at Corinthian I had one of the most diverse and sought after collections of Headliners in the world!
